What changed

  • Patient leaflets will add a boxed warning signposting information on suicidal thoughts and behaviours.
  • A patient card is expected in or on the pack.
  • Leaflets for certain antidepressants will name "Post SSRI Sexual Dysfunction" (PSSD), the risk of sexual symptoms continuing after treatment stops.
  • An ancillary safety leaflet for first appointments and existing patients will be available in 2027.

MHRA: "It's imperative that patients do not stop taking these medicines without first speaking to their healthcare professional." It adds that for most people "the benefits outweigh the risks".

Does not establish

a new risk discovered in October, a U.S. FDA labeling change, or advice to stop treatment.
