CMS’s October 3 guidance describes a one-time $90 premium rebate for certain people enrolled in Original Medicare Part B. It does not extend eligibility to Medicare Advantage enrollees.

The agency expected most direct deposits around October 8, with some paper checks arriving later in October. That schedule does not establish that a particular person has received a payment.

Use the official CMS eligibility guidance rather than assuming every Medicare beneficiary qualifies. CMS directs eligibility questions to Medicare and payment-status questions to the Social Security Administration. This rebate is a separate payment, not a published determination of anyone’s 2027 premium or net benefit.
